Meet Your Therapist
Hello, I'm Simon Jones. I'm a licensed psychotherapist and mental health expert based in Blaenau Gwent, South Wales. For over 15 years, I've been helping people work through trauma, anxiety, depression and life's most difficult challenges.
I know how hard it can be to reach out for help. Many of my clients tell me they spent months or even years struggling alone before taking that first step. If you're reading this, you've already shown courage by considering therapy. My job is to make the rest of the journey as supportive and effective as possible.
I work with people from all walks of life, from children and teenagers to adults and older people. Each person's situation is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. Whether you're dealing with traumatic memories, overwhelming anxiety, relationship difficulties or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to help you find a way forward.
Why I Became a Therapist
My path to becoming a psychotherapist wasn't straightforward. Like many therapists, I was drawn to this work through my own experiences of seeing how mental health struggles can affect every aspect of life.
Early in my career, I witnessed firsthand how the right support at the right time can transform someone's life. I saw people who felt hopeless find their way back to themselves. I watched clients who'd been trapped by anxiety or trauma gradually rebuild their confidence and reclaim their lives.
That's what motivates me every day. I believe that with the right therapeutic support, people have an incredible capacity for healing and growth. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your difficulties, process painful experiences and develop practical strategies for moving forward. Together, we'll work to understand what's holding you back and find effective ways to help you feel better.
Over 15 years of practice has taught me that whilst therapy requires commitment and courage, it genuinely works. I've seen it work for hundreds of clients, and I'm confident it can work for you too.
15 Years of Clinical Experience
Since qualifying as a psychotherapist, I've worked with hundreds of clients across South Wales and beyond. My experience spans trauma therapy, anxiety treatment, depression support, relationship counselling and holistic mental health care. This depth of experience means I've encountered most situations before and can draw on proven approaches that work.

My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is grounded in proven psychological techniques, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and trauma focused therapies. These approaches have strong research backing and I've seen them work effectively with hundreds of clients.
However, I also recognise that you're more than just your symptoms. Mental health doesn't exist in isolation. It's influenced by your sleep, your relationships, your lifestyle and your physical health. That's why, when appropriate, I integrate guidance on these areas to support your therapeutic progress.
My style is warm, direct and collaborative. I'll work alongside you to understand what's happening, why it's happening and what we can do about it. Some clients describe my approach as practical and down to earth, others appreciate the depth of understanding I bring to complex emotional issues.
I create a confidential, supportive environment where you can be open about your struggles. My goal is to help you develop the insights, skills and confidence you need to overcome your difficulties and build a more fulfilling life.
